At first I thought this was a very lazy comic . . . Then I realised that it was actually disturbingly accurate.

In the last couple of weeks I have played a lot of Pokémon X. A lot. I bought both versions (X and Y) on the release date . . . And I haven’t wanted to put my 3DS down.

These are the best Pokémon games I have played since Ruby and Sapphire. I have always enjoyed Pokémon, ever since I first played it in my first year of high school, were I played the Blue version of the game. I just found it a very enjoyable game. Enjoyable enough that I bought each subsequent version as they were released. Blue, Red, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Leaf Green, Fire Red, Emerald . . . And then they started getting bad. Pearl, Diamond, skipped Platinum, Black, White . . . They just stopped being fun. The new pokémon were boring, the plot was uninteresting, and I skipped several versions including Heart Gold, Soul Silver, and Black 2 and White 2.

Now, thanks to X and Y, I know this isn’t some weird — and unwanted — result of ‘growing up’. I still like games, I still like Pokémon, I just like good games.

In all truth, I look forward to every break at work so that I can have another 15 minutes of game time. All I want to do right now is play Pokémon and watch episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series.

In other news, I have drawn a colouring-in sheet for a charity group. Check ‘em out.
